We work with clients near and far – from down the street to around the globe – and here is what we’ve learned over the years:
- Clients care more about financial advisor expertise than location. More and more we are finding clients care less about where we are and a lot more about who we are and what we can do.
- Clients prefer more efficient communication. A decade ago clients liked coming to our office for quarterly meetings, but nowadays they prefer less frequent visits and would prefer to communicate over the phone and via email.
- Clients prefer lower fees. Working with clients across the country has helped financial advisors become efficient and streamlined, which means we can pass on the savings to our clients.
- Clients want someone they can trust who will give them customized advice. They are happy to forego the advisor down the street for the right relationship.
When it comes to financial, tax, legal, and investment advice, clients want to work with the best advisors they can, even if that means they are in a different city, state, or even country.
How We Work With Clients
With technology, it’s as if we were in the same room as you. We do much of our communication over the phone and email. We also use web meetings so we can review reports together, which allows us to run new scenarios on the fly, create new assumptions, and highlight or mark-up documents as we discuss them.
Many clients prefer this over coming into the office because they can schedule a quick meeting while at work or at home with their spouse on their computer, laptop, or iPad. They beat the traffic and also have a presentation we can save and they can refer to later.
