Lately I’ve been reading and watching a lot of World War II documentaries (Netflix has a series called WWII In Color that is excellent). The more I learn about that war and the other wars our soldiers have fought in the more I understand and appreciate this holiday.
I used to think about it as a day for fireworks and BBQs and to celebrate what people did a couple of hundred years ago, but now I understand that our freedom is not an event in 1776 but a process that has occurred every single day since.
So today I think about not just the brave Americans who fought for us in the past, but the men and women who are sacrificing today. Because of your continued support, we are proud to financially contribute to several non-profits including the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and the Wounded Warrior Project.
Thank you for enabling us to contribute.
I hope you have a wonderful 4th of July!
